Things to do: Walking This is definitely walking country! walk in the very hills you can see from the house. Glorious 360 panoramas… Our local walk is a good hour of muddy beauty - find the Church and walk past it, the village hall and over fields to Netherley farm and back around. Malvern Malvern has loads of restaurants, bars, a cinema and shows at the Malvern Theatre. The Malvern Spa is a relaxing day, with a great indoor/outdoor pool and jacuzzi if you book in time. See what's on at the Malvern 3 Counties show ground. Best view from a pub (no food) but very worth it for the view is The Majors Arms in Halmond’s Frome, about eight minutes’ drive. Check opening times Rustic pub with Giant fire - The Green Dragon in Bishops Frome. Our local - The Red Lion for food is great – they used to run a taverna in Greece, so there are some unexpected mediterranean nosh on the menu. It is great, and we are told the Sunday lunch is delicious. Good beers and a log burner. See if you can catch Kevin Mc Cloud in there, off Grand Designs (he lives nearby). The Hop Shed brewery is just over a mile from us. It’s an award winning brewery on a hop farm. In an old chicken barn. Open Friday evening with different street food concession vans and Saturday afternoon 1-7pm for delicious pizza. The brewery was featured in Ben Fogle's Escape to the Country. More recently the Hop Shed was on Greg Wallace’s series(!) when he covered the Guinness factory. Hops for Guinness are grown on our doorstep. Hampton Court Castle and Gardens This is a great day out for gentle family fun. It has fantastic gardens, grounds and an adventure area to run around, a maze to get lost in and a magical waterfall you can walk inside! Eastnor castle and Gardens - Or visit nearby Ledbury for boutique shopping and good food. Local produce and Blossom trails This area is world famous for its asparagus, so you can get early bunches in spring. Home - Clive Fruit Farm It’s also apple and pear country, with lots of great brands of cider. That means blossom trails this time of year – Clive’s Fruit Farm have one, and also if you head over to Evesham Morgan Car Factory Morgan cars are still made in Malvern (the Morgan family live in Cradley). You can tour the factory, hire one of their cars, or be driven around the hills in style. And don’t forget Worcester! - loads to do. Worcester has two cinemas, two bowling alleys, climbing walls, a Cathedral you can climb to the top of. You’ll also find a Tudor museum, English Civil War museum (The Commandery), the Lea and Perrins Factory. Retroids arcade bar is fun! original pinball + arcade games beer & coffee right by the Cathedral. Fine dining at Browns restaurant (if it's not in the river – just by the bridge). We love sitting riverside for lunch it's a great venue. Or buy your steak by the ounce at, er, the Ounce Restaurant on The Tything. Further afield Cheltenham is four junctions down the M5. Then you have the Forest of Dean, Ross on Wye, Ludlow and even Wales!
